gin As Unique as Pittsburghese
Some people take exception to Pittsburgh’s particular dialect; it’s the result of foreign immigrants once united in purpose if not origin: forging steel for a nation. Today Pittsburgh can cite the Pittsburghese dialect as just one of many factors that unite the citizens of this great city. It is with that in mind we hand crafted an American style gin unique enough and balanced enough to carry a moniker infused with the city’s single most famous slang term, “yinz.”
Ginzer Gin is distilled from grain and is a blend of juniper, coriander, orange peel, and clove. It is flavored using vapor infusion, which consists of carefully measuring out ingredients and layering the botanicals in a “gin basket,” which is a section of the column near the top of the still. During the distillation process the alcohol vapors pass through the gin basket and take on the flavors of our select botanicals. Ginzer then rests in stainless steel containers for several weeks to let the flavors marry.
When yinz all get a chance to try it out, let us know what yinz think. We think it’s great in cocktails like corpse revivers n’at!
